The Atomizer - The heartbeat of any electronic Cigarette is the Atomizer. The Atomizer receives power from the battery when air pressure is detected by the battery. Inside the Atomizer is a coil which heats up rapidly vaporizing liquid in the Atomizer chamber. The Atomizer is responsible for 90% of the Satisfaction and also responsible for 90% of the dissatisfaction and failures of electronic cigarettes. The Atomizer should be replaced as a part of maintanance every 1-3 months or 300-500 cartridges. The Atomizer can reach its end of life without warning so it is always a good idea to have a spare on hand just in case.
Breaking in a New Atomizer - New Atomizers need a period of breaking them which can last as long as two or three cartridges. We recommend putting a brand new cartridge on the new Atomizer and let it sit for 5 minutes. Typically the first cartridge will not have much of its natural flavor and will have a bland but not unplesant taste. Slowly prime the Atomizer by taking short 1-3 second puffs in order to get the liquid flowing into the Atomizer. Once the Atomizer is starting to break in you will notice more of the cartridges natural taste, the draw will start to become easier, vapor will get heavier. At this point normal inhale can be used. If the pull on the Atomizer is too hard make sure the battery is snug but be sure not to over tighten or force the atomizer to the battery.
Normal issues with a new Atomizer: Slightly hard to Inhale, Bland and Warm Taste, Atomizer gets Very Warm,
Recommended Atomizer Replacement is every 1-3 Months, every 300-500 cartridges, when it stops working, or when cleaning does not improve performance. A Dry, burnt or unpleasant taste, reduced or no vapor with a new battery and fresh cartridge indicates the Atomizer has failed and should be replaced.
To order replacement atomizers please see our parts page.
Cleaning the Atomizer - Cleaning the Atomizer is typically not necessary when using with our cartridges on a daily bases. Should you experience unpleasant taste at the end of a cartridge there could be a build up of liquid inside the Atomizer causing a blockage. If you will not be using your electronic cigarette on a routine basis it is recommended to remove the cartridge prior to storage. Daily usage of an Atomizer should keep it functioning and not getting clogged up. e-Liquid users however will need to clean the Atomizer regularily. Do not clean the atomizer with water we recommend the below methods for keeping the Atomizer clean and functioning.
When to Clean the Atomizer:
If you get a burning taste towards the end of cartridge you should clean the atomizer.
If your electronic cigarette gets hard to draw on.
If your electronic cigarette starts locking into standby more often or appears to be acting in an unusual way.
How to Clean Atomizer - Remove the Atomizer from the battery and cartridge, blow hard three times into the atomizer through the battery hole or use compressed air in short bursts to clear the airway of the Atomizer. Use a tissue or paper towel dabbing the atomizer to remove excess liquid from the coil after clearing it out with the air.
